Jim Hughes, DVM
Dr. Hughes is a graduate of the University of Florida and has practiced Veterinary medicine in the Tampa Bay Area for over 30 years. The first veterinarian to perform a feline kidney transplant in the United States, also he was the main surgeon for the Tampa Bay Greyhound and Derby Lane Greyhound track in the 70's. Dr Hughes established one of the first Greyhound Rescue clubs in the US. "Dr. Jim" is an accomplished orthopedic and oncology surgeon, who has developed several surgical techniques and treatments that are used with his cruciate knee surgeries as well as hip replacement, spinal surgery, and traumatic reconstructive surgeries.With stem cell therapy, acupuncture, cold laser therapy, Dr. Jim and the Vetria staff are practicing efficient, profound veterinary care for your furry family members.

Our technicians have over 15 years experience in veterinary care. Each and every staff member is crossed-trained to take care of you and your pet at every level. From making your appointment, triage your pet, obtaining their history, the initial evaluation of your pet, and discussing estimates.
The staff is extremely knowledgeable about supplements, flea, tick, and heart-worm prevention, diets, and overall pet heath. Each of us have four legged furry families of our own. We all enjoy working with small animals and exotics. We are also professional and dedicated to serving the health and wellness of your pet.
