LOOK OUT FOR SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER SPECIALS

Picture

Vetria Pet Wellness and Surgery Center  recommend the "drop off pick up at the end of the day" method, which will give your pet ample time to be seen as well as treated by our veterinarian.

We ask that if you are experiencing cough, congestion, fatigue, fever, or any underlying flu like symptoms, you do not come into the lobby and call the office to have a staff member retrieve your pet from the car.

Vetria looks forward to taking care of your pet to the best of our ability and continuing implementing the safety and wellbeing of everyone a our office.

Thank you so much for your continued business and support.

All our best,

Dr. Jim, Tina, and staff

Summertime Fun

Picture
Summer is here and theheat is on.  This is a very important time to talk about dehydration in animals.  With the heat index in Florida yu pet can get dehydrated and suffer from heat stroke quite quickly.  Here are some signs to look for when yur pet is out in the heat for extended periods of time.
  • Heavy panting and difficulty breathing.
  • Excessively drooling.
  • The dog appears lethargic, drowsy or uncoordinated.
  • Collapsed or vomiting.

If your dog/cat is experiencing any of these symptoms and has been out in the heat, the goal is to return your pet to a normal body temperature, to avoid further organ damage. To effectivly cool down your pet is directing a fan toward the animal and applying cool or tepid water directly on the skin. Cool towels saturated in water over the animal.

Helpful hints during this hot summer;

Make sure your pet has clean fresh water throughout the day.  Do not keep your pet directly in the heat for long periods of time. Give them a covered, shaded area if outside.  Walk your pet in the mornings or evening.
